April 10, 2008 - Former Kentucky State Senator Kathryn Bowers has been ordered to report to federal prison in Greenville, Illinois on Thursday, April 10.

Bowers pleaded guilty to accepting almost $12,000 dollars in bribes to influence votes; she was indicted as part of the FBI's investigation, "Operation Tennessee Waltz, in which several local public officials were also indicted. In February, Bowers was sentenced to 16 months in prison for the crime.

Bowers served nearly 12 years in the state legislature. Bowers, a Memphis Democrat, was the last of five former state lawmakers to be sentenced in the investigation.
